Road or Floor Sawing
Is the most commonly used diamond cutting method. It is typically used to cut horizontal flat surfaces such as floors, bridge decks, and pavement. Also called slab saws, floor saws feature a diamond blade that is mounted on a walk-behind machine requiring only one operator. Floor saws are typically used to provide expansion joints, remove damaged pavement sections, clean and repair random cracks for repair, and remove concrete sections for demolition purposes. We have a selection of floor saws to suit a wide range of requirements.
Concrete Cutting's diesel floor saws are ones of the biggest floor saws on the market capable of accommodating a 1500mm diameter blade. Cutting to a depth of 635mm with 72 horse power being delivered to the shaft by an 84 horse power engine cutting reinforced concrete has never been easier. The large floor saws we have are ideal for the removal of large unwanted concrete slabs.
Electric floor sawing is mostly carried out inside e.g. warehouses, shop floors, and other areas where diesel machines can not be used due to noise levels and fumes. The electric floor saw is operated by a 3 phase 380-415v supply, which we can also provide. By running cable to a 3 phase generator situated outside keeps noise levels and fumes away from the immediate working area.
Our range of floor saws can cut shallow crack inducing cuts on new surface without marking green concrete to 500mm deep on the hardest of flint aggregate concrete stands. All units are self-contained with integral water supplies within the operator's vehicle. The floor saw is pushed or propelled along a flat surface while the diamond blade makes the vertical cut to the required depth. Floor saws are typically powered by petrol or diesel engines, electric or hydraulic sources. The floor saws are self propelled and the operator walks behind the saw carrying out the depth, speed and direction controls. Floor saw blades require water feed to flush the cut and to act as a coolant. While floor sawing has many highway and airport applications, a typical building application is the removal of floor structures. Other typical applications include trenching, floor chasing, road and runway repairs, crack inducement cuts, large openings in floor slabs and expansion joints. Floor sawing, as well as wall sawing, is an excellent demolition aid due to its speed, control of the process, low noise and vibration. Because this method requires little or no reinstatement work on completion, it is particularly useful in finished areas such as supermarkets, hospitals and offices. Floor sawing is an ideal option when deadlines are tight and the necessity to carry out the work quickly and efficiently is a must. Available as sub-contractor for complex building contracts.
